2. You need to have 4 rows of corn- not 2.
3. You need 1 row of summer squash not 4.
4. Carrots should be thinned, but if they aren't they still taste the same
5. Having a garden and a dislike of getting dirty can be a problem.
6. Having a garden and a dislike of bugs is also a problem. No I don't know what's in the wet dark corner by the fence. I don't go over there. (Mom says to put raspberries there next year- the slugs might eat them all)
7. Squash bugs ALWAYS get the pumpkin plants first- Even if you do spray for them, you might save the squash (definitely the zucchini!), but the Squash bugs ALWAYS get the pumpkins!
8. Free range tomatoes taste the same, but they are hard to pick with out stepping on them. (We neglected tomato cages this year)
9. You should use a pre-emergent. Or else last years tomatoes and squash grow from the rotten ones that didn't get thrown away. And the weeds are unbelievable!
10. Contrary to popular belief, last years tomatoes and squash seeds will produce vegetables. I DID NOT plant tomatoes in the middle of the carrot rows. I DID NOT plant Zucchini ALL OVER THE GARDEN!
And lastly- If you forget to water, the veggie plants will die, the weeds will NOT.
I should find you a picture. - My camera is on the fritz, and we just got Ryan's back from its' $200 service job, so of course mine had to break too! Most (but not all) the pics are fuzzy!!- That's a story for another day.
